Summer can be one of the easiest times of the year to introduce some ecological life into your life. We all understand that it can be difficult to get started on the path of ecological life, but with these 5 simple activities, you can transform your summer into an ecological summer.
# 1 Cycling:
The first way to make your summer more friendly for the planet is to cycle more frequently. It is a good way to reduce pollution and a great way to stay in good shape. The bike may not be ideal all day, but when you go to a friend’s house or run a quick run to the market, why not use this bike that has accumulated dust? If you’re new to the city or want to join a new club, visit the cycling clubs in your area. It’s a great way to meet new people and explore the city!
# 2 Go Camping:
Camping is an economic and ecological activity ideal for all ages. It allows you to enjoy nature and spend quality time with your friends and family. It can be as rugged or modern as you want, but if you want to be truly eco-friendly, go to the rugged campsite. These will have little or no electricity and will really test your survival skills. While camping, be sure to hike, swim, or just sit around the campfire to share scary stories.
# 3 Attend Green Drinks:
Green Drinks is an informal opportunity to meet monthly with others interested in talking about green. It is a networking event designed around the theme of sustainability, health and well-being for self and the environment. This event is international with meeting places from Detroit to Vietnam. Take part in this green event and find a green drink near you.
# 4 Plant an organic garden:
Eating organic is easy when you are in your own garden. If you are interested in planting a vegetable or fruit orchard, go to your local food cooperative or farmer’s market and start planting your own food. It’s a great way to cut down on all the chemicals that can’t be mentioned in our fruits and vegetables that we see today. It’s also a great way to get the whole family involved. If you have children or know that young children can help you, this is an activity you will surely enjoy.
# 5 Garage sale:
Go or organize a garage sale. If you have a garage sale, it’s a great way to get rid of all your old clothes or to clean up the mess of unused household items. With a garage sale, you can make room for your greener home products and accessories while earning money. If you are interested in attending a garage sale, check your local newspaper or just cycle through town until you find one. You can get pretty useful items that can be even greener than you expect!
