Simply Sustainable Living Ideas

Green living is about to live in harmony with nature, protection and preservation of Earth’s natural resources and biodiversity with human culture and communities. However, the term has changed over time. What green living meant ten or twenty years ago is far from what it means today and it can be difficult for older people to change their lifestyle.

LIVING A MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE HARD

Here we give you some very easy tips that you can apply into your life to start your journey to „Green Living”.

Don’t drink bottled water. Buying a reusable filter bottle will be a much better solution for our environment.

Instead of taking long baths, take a quick shower. Your water bills will get lower immediately.

Use high efficiency electronic devices. The purchase of such a device may be slightly more expensive, but it will be an investment for years.

Take public transport, bike or walk. You will not pollute the air and you will be in better shape.

Learn about the collaborative movement in communities around the world.

Grow some plats. Trees give us oxygen, and some plants can even help to remove toxins from the environment.

Buy Only What You Need. Avoid overspending, impulse buying and buyer’s remorse.

Bring your own shopping bags. Investment in a few shopping bags and reusable produce bags that will last several years.

Buy durable items.  Durable goods are a category of consumer products that do not need to be purchased frequently because they are made to last for a long time (usually lasting for three years or more).

Make your own cleaners. Making your own cleaning products is a great way to reduce plastic pollution and avoid harmful chemicals in your home.

Buy and Sell Used Items: Buy and sell your items on sites such as: local thrift stores, garage sales, websites: Ebay, Amazon, Gumtree.

Switching to a animal-free, vegan diet. A vegan diet has the lowest carbon footprint at just 1.5 tons CO2e (Carbon Dioxide Equivalent). You can reduce your footprint by a quarter just by cutting down on red meats such as beef and lamb.

The advantages are endless. By following these principles, you are helping to improve the quality of life on our planet. The use of organic products makes us feel not only better but we are also healthier and have more energy. Sounds great, right?
